In our farmhouse we have a comfortable and cosy accommodation on the first floor. Guests will feel comfortable and at home. In the morning there will be a rich breakfast.
In a wonderful and peaceful environment you will appreciate the quietness of our place. In our bed and breakfast you can choose between three comfortable rooms, each with its own atmosphere and at an affordable price. You share the bathroom with the other guests.
Where to find our place?
Scharmer is a 12 km (cycling) distance east of the city of Groningen in the municipality of Slochteren. Do you know the Schildmeer or the Fraeylemaborg castle in Slochteren, the hanging kitchens of Appingedam and the beautiful village of Zuidlaren in Drenthe? That's all within a 20 minutes drive by car.
By bus from Groningen, you are within 30 minutes in Harkstede and you can walk 7 minutes to our B&B
In what area will you be?
Our bed and breakfast is partly rural, bordering a residential area of the neighbourhood village of Harkstede and 50 meters from the main road. We think it’s a lovely place, because it is so quiet and there is no disturbance from traffic noise.
Who are our guests?
The guests who come to our bed and breakfast come for a weekend getaway, a wedding, party, reunion or family visits. Bert Hellinger Instituut But also work, a workshop or training at the Bert Hellinger Institute or activities like canoeing, rowing or cycling may be a reason to visit our B&B.
Parking
When you arrive at our guesthouse you will find the parking lot in front of the entrance of our B&B. When you enter the hall you will be surprised by the space and you will immediately taste the cosy atmosphere of a bed and breakfast in a farmhouse. In the spacious hall is a toilet which you can use as a guest. We also have a lot of information about the area, dining, biking etc ..
Directly from our bed and breakfast you can take a nice walk or go cycling.
When you want to visit the city of Groningen, a bus takes you every hour to the city.
For dinner you can go to Engelbert, Hoogezand and of course Groningen.
In the nearby village of Harkstede (which is within walking distance) are possibilities for take away or delivered pizza, kebab, snacks, fries or Chinese food.
During or after arriving it is possible to stay outside and enjoy the weather, as we have built a terrace and seating area exclusively for guest’s use. Before going to the rooms, which are all located on the 1st floor, we will tell you that we have wireless internet and we have a small kitchenette in the breakfast room where you can make small meals. And .... the coffee and tea is for free!
