A trip around the Schildmeer lake is about 14 km long, starting from our bed and breakfast in Scharmer with a total length of 39.6 km. It's a wonderful route along meadows with willows, the Slochterdiep, the wideness of Overschild and the beautiful nature around the lake.
Relax at restaurant "the Otter" with a beautiful view on the water, it’s pure enjoyment. You can choose to extend the route by taking the main road via Schildwolde which is going past the castle “Fraeylemaborg” in Slochteren.
