Appingedam, besides Groningen, is the only town in the province of medieval origin.
In the centre are still many medieval buildings and the three hanging kitchens and narrow bridges over the Damsterdiep are famous. This small town is well worth a visit, and maybe you still have time to go to the museum of Appingedam!
